Schools to lose $26.2 million

Public schools will not get $26.2 million that would normally be available to them to cover enrollment growth and low property tax collections, lawmakers decided Monday. The additional money would be voted routinely in a normal year. Also, state funding was based on an estimate of property tax revenue that has turned out to be $9 million too high. The difference occurs because building projects were scrapped and did not get on the tax rolls. As I was reading this I notice that we Americans are still in the hole. How can we fix this? It will take a lot of years to fix the economy and we are facing really tough situations like tax cuts. Before this happened it was still hard to get an education and now it will be worse.

Gerrard To Return For Madrid Match?February 23, 2009, Sports Pudnit
Professional Soccer player Gerrard who plays for Liverpool in the EPL has been injured for the past two games that Liverpool has played. He pulled his hampstring. Liverpool has a game against Madrid and the Liverpool coaches hope he can play. He will be trainging on Monday and will evaluate to see if he can play and check with the doctor and go from there.
Hopefully Gerrard will be able to play because he is a good player and hopefully they can win if he plays.

Basically what this article is talking about how General Motors lost over 30.9 Billion dollars last year alone. They say they can’t survive much longer without any aid from the government. They are depending on more than 16 billion dollars from the government so they can survive through 2009. But G.M. is not the only company losing sale so is Ford and Chrysler.
I think that they should get the money because G.M. makes a lot of money usually, so they can eventually pay them back because they are one of the a\major industries in the U.S.

Van Bommel a very well known soccer player to everyone in Europe plans to retire from soccer. He was a player from Germany. The coach says he doesn't know what he will do without him. Van Bommel says that his team will do good in the world cup without him.
I say Germany is a pretty good team and they will do good without him because Germany does so good in any world cup.

the article i read about was about how 2 coaches of a lacrosse team acused of hurting players on the bus and the player got injuries and they both went to prison for a very long time because of how the acused this player. they acused him sexually and one of the coachs acused the they players body really bad and the other coach acused him by touching him offensively and the other players of on the bus saw all of this happen.
i agree with this article because the coachs should go to jail because of what they did to a lacrosse player on the bus and how they each acused him. i also thought it was hard to read because of what they did to this lacrosse player i feel bad for them and its smart for the parents to have them pay a fine.
Local News. Arvada 16-Year-Old Dies After Skateboard Accident

A 16 year-old kid from Valley High School in Arvada died because injuries from getting run over by a car. The kids name was Ryan Bailey. He was holding on to the side of the car while on a skateboard. The person that was driving is still waiting if any charges will be put against them.
I think this is sad because he didnt think of what the worst could happen to him. I bet all he was thinking was maybe a broken bone or a scare to be left from it, not taking his life. I hope kids learn from this an think about the worst that could happen to them. Then to act like nothing like this will happen to them.
In the article “body found near train tracks” by the Denver post. The authorities are investigating the discovery of a body near train tracks in Douglas County. The train engineer called the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and said he saw a body near Castle Rock. It is not known how the body ended up near the tracks or whether the person had been struck by a train. It is under investigation and there are no details were available about the victim, including the person's gender. They should be able to tell people more about what happed then keeping it all a secret. Because people need to know if it was a murder, or if he/she was hit by the train.

I just finished the book and it ends where Matt is surrounded by caos in Hong Kong and some how manadges to find Skars Dad. Skars dad knows he did wrong and makes up by helping matt with his plan and that is getting captured by Knightrise. But they end up killing Skars dad and tazing matt. His plan ends up working though he is putt with skar. She has also summond a hurricane to get them out and destroy the old ones. Then Jamie and Richard go to them with the entire tryadd army on their side and skar protects them from the class 5 hurricanes deadly rage. When they reach the door they are mett by scott and pedro who burst thrugh the door and knock down Jamie and just in time to dodge a bullet fired by a dieing nightrise worker but it hits scar in the head and the 7 of them run through the door: Matt, Jamie, Scott, Pedro,Scar, Richord, and The tryad leader but they all end up in completly different parts of the world and the book ends. This was by far the best book in the series and i hope i dont have to waight for to long for the next 1. I also found out that the next Alex Rider comes out this year so im siked for that. also the next young james bond and the next rangers apprentis come out realy soon oooo ya im so siked.
Amphibians Face Extinctionfrom Animals Going Extinct by rusne 2/27/09
Amphibians are having a hard time with global warming. Then mammals are. This is because their bodies have needed water and oxygen. Also amphibans depend on clean and fresh water. About 122 amphibians are already been extinct. Scientists say that amphibians are going extinct because of climate changing and polluted water.
My reponse is I like amphibians. I think its sad that 122 amphibians are dieing. Also I think that we must try to stop the gobal warming. I think the scientists are right why aphibians are dieing,
Rocky Mountain News Stops the Presses

Just two months before the 150th anniversary of the Rocky Mountain News, the last edition was printed Friday. It is the largest newspaper to fail in the United States because of the drop in paid advertising that keeps the newspaper going. The 230 employees will be paid through the end of April.
I think it is really sad that a newspaper that has been around for so long has to close. I heard on the news that some of the employees were going to work at the Denver Post. I feel bad for the rest of them because I don't know where they will be able to get a job.
